Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Limited Sachtleben Chemie GmbH
Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Limited (KCIL) and Sachtleben Chemie GmbH of Germany jointly announce a technical tie-up for setting up a plant for manufacturing water treatment chemicals. The plant would be set up at KCIL's existing Chlor-Alkali Complex at Renukoot in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The state-of-the-art technology transfer from Sachtleben Chemie, which includes significant marketing assistance, will enable KCIL to use its core competence of manufacturing chemicals and expand manufacturing capacity in India for water treatment chemicals. The venture is expected to benefit companies and municipal water works in India that are looking for cost-effective methods of treating industrial effluents and recycling potable water.

Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Limited is a major player in the Indian chemicals industry, manufacturing chlor-alkalis and alcohol-based intermediates. KCIL started in the early 1960s, has evolved as a market leader in India in several of the products it manufactures. KCIL operates its own thermal power plant and enjoys a cost advantage as a result of its commitment to technology, process improvement and backward & forward integration. The new project would add to its forward integration efforts.
